How a game works
-
1
Someone puts a screen up
An Apple TV, or any laptop, tablet or projector — open the host page in a browser. That screen reads the questions out and keeps score.
-
2
A four-digit code appears
With a QR code beside it. Everyone in the room scans it, or types the four digits into their own phone.
-
3
Pick an animal and play
Choose a farm animal and a name, vote for a category, then answer as fast as you can — the quicker you are, the more it is worth.
What you need
To play
A phone with a web browser. That is the whole list — there is no app to download, no account to make and nothing to sign up for.
Join a gameTo host
Anything with a browser and a screen people can see. Plug a laptop into the television, prop up a tablet, or use the Apple TV app if you have one.
Host a gameThe game: Gray Matters
“The game that proves you’re not just another pretty brain.”
The room picks the subjects
Everybody votes for a category, and the round is built out of whatever the room chose. Nobody gets a quiz entirely about somebody else’s hobby.
Speed is the whole game
A correct answer is worth full marks if you are quick, and less for every second you dither. A question closes as soon as everyone has answered, so nobody waits on the clock.
Dropped calls are survivable
Lose signal and you keep your seat, your animal and your score. Come back and you are still in the same game — everyone else just sees you greyed out for a moment.
